Rainy Tuesday

The day started with light drizzle and the kids wanting to be driven to school, but I’m “horrible” and made them walk, it stopped pretty soon after they left and they would have been fine. Hubby and I went for our 4 mile walk at the same time and there was no rain to speak of.

That said the rain did start mid morning and hasnt stopped yet, its been horrible across most of the UK today by all accounts, we have had flood warnings on our side of the country. I believe London has been badly affected, I hope everyone is okay.

I decided that today’s art work would be the zoom call I missed from Gezellig. This piece is showing Anyali and the pieces we have gathered on our journey. This piece has actually taken me most of the day, but I am happy with it.

I also made a piece for The Ugly Art Club prompt #Holey I didn’t really know what to do, but was inspired by leaking Derwent paint brush pens, and ended up just splodging all over the place.

The exciting news for today is @owlsowner has been saving his money for ages and has finally bought himself something. He is super excited to have this, and was so keen to get started on it after homework (yes again I’m horrible and made him do the boring stuff before the fun stuff!) This is a very grown up piece, and it will tax him, but I think he will be OK as long as he concentrates.

We all love Lego in this house, I’m from the generation that said “girls don’t have Lego” so I’m definitely finding some fun in it now. I have the Steamboat Mickey Mouse, and I really want the botanical sets but I’ve spent so much on art stuff I dare not buy it.. still Christmas is coming isnt it…. 🙂

  1. I always wanted a mechano set and a train set but wasn’t allowed because they were for boys, bring on the lego! Looks like lots of fun, Happy Blogging! Elle/EOTC xx

I know right I was the same! He has almost finished it, and if I wasn’t such a hard task master and let him off his homework it would be done!!?

      1. makes me want to go out and buy some now lol

  2. That Lego set looks really cool! And I love your art journal pages.

Oh I hope you get your lego. It’s so much fun! I grew up with dolls and teddies and soldiers and lego (as did my son though minus the soldiers) and loved it. I have a huge tote full of my son’s lego. It just sits there but I couldn’t part with it not even for the grandkids! (admittedly I kept forgetting about it and now it’s all about the kits.) I hope your son has fun with his. And I love both your art pieces. You look like you had fun and wild abandon in the Holey prompt one!

I had a death star lego set, I want the harry potter hogwarts one so desperately. I wish I had a mum to make me save – coz then instead of all the cheese I got, I could have something fun! I like the TUAC piece, I think it was a good use of the holey prompt. Keep being “horrible” 😉 it was just drizzle fo shizzle 😉

  6. I love your art Donna. Both pieces. They are so different. Oh my the Batwing! All made from Lego’s? I don’t remember if I played with them or not. I did play with Lincoln Logs but they aren’t as creative. Hope the rain stops soon.
