Art Sale

I recently took part in an Art Sale in Norwich.

40+ local artists were involved and all artwork needed to be on sale for lower than previously adverstised.

The premise was any art was allowed, framed, unframed, finished, not finished. Anything was allowed.

I submitted a full wall and 2 boxes of art, for 4 days.

And I am so excited to say that I made 8 sales.  That’s 8 pieces of work that were previously sitting in a drawer or box in the studio.

So now I am told I HAVE to call myself an artist, because people paid good money for my work!

Me and my work!

Website Update

I have spent a few days, updating the website.

I have changed some things around making it a lot more focused on the art I am producing and easier to navigate the pages.

The art shop is easier to navigate and links out to the Etsy page from each picture.

My branding is more standardised and hopefully accessibility requirements are improving. Adding Alt Text to pictures as I create them, means screen readers will be able to show what is on the page easier. It will be a long task going back over old posts, so I will add it to a “to-do” List.

I would welcome your feedback on the new look. What do you like? What works well? Is there something more you would like to see?

After the party Catchup!

So it’s been one week since my college exhibition, and I’m not going to lie I am still buzzing from it.

The Exhibition went well the room was crowded with visitors, the booths looked amazing and all students were happy with their setups.

It was my time to shine, to showcase what producing a body of work can feel like – and I loved it!

My booth and table went together so much better than I could have hoped for and with help from my biggest supporter (My fantastic husband!), we created a display that showcased each piece of work perfectly.

I had 3 collections that totalled 17 pieces of work available for sale, an A3 Display folder of additional works produced, a journal used for notations, ideas, general practice work and lastly, a small watercolour sketchbook I had taken out for plein-air work.

The day was amazing and I am delighted to say that I sold 4 pieces on the day, and another 2 since then.

The day was a success, and a fantastic celebration to the end of the year’s study.

A Sense of Place

I have finished another year of Art College with Art Academy East. Honestly, it is such a fantastic feeling, it’s been a long and significant year of learning, culminating in a final project to create a body of work that is shown to our family and friends as an exhibition.

We were asked to investigate “a sense of place” For me I resolved this as the Norfolk Coastline, and specifically, Cromer. It’s a place that means a lot to me, for many reasons, and my hope is that the collection represents my feelings in painted form.

Here I shall show the completed pieces.

I created 3 collections of work, and I am proud of the results.

Feeling the Feels

Life is a Journey

I hope you enjoy these paintings.

I, along with my peers are having a student work exhibition on 1st July at the college, invited guests will be able to view all our work and how we individually resolved “a sense of place”.

I can’t wait to showcase my work to family and friends, this is possibly the proudest I have been so far of all my achievements.
